Joyce Banda’s television hits airwaves

Days after reports emerged that former Malawi president Joyce Banda was the chief architect of the infamous Cashgate scandal, a television station linked to her has started airing.

The television station which comes after her Ufulu radio station is also called by the same name of Ufulu and started broadcasting on Wednesday evening.

A message that was scrolling over indicated that the television was still in its initial stages and had not yet started broadcasting full programmes.

As we went to print, the television was playing music videos of both local and international artists.

Ufulu television is set to join a list of other television stations that include Bakili Muluzi owned Joy television, state broadcaster MBC, Lilongwe based Luso television among other television stations.
