Malawi’s renowned actor and comedian John Nyanga popularly known by his stage name Izeki has died, Malawi24 can confirm.

Nyanga died at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre where he had been admitted to for the last few weeks.

Nyanga, who rose to fame performing with Kwathu Drama Group and as part of the ‘Izeki ndi Jacobo’ moniker with his friend Eric Mabedi, passed away this afternoon.

Bon Kalindo has so far confirmed the sad news.

Nyanga will be laid to rest on Tuesday in the commercial city of Blantyre.
