Lilongwe based side Blue Eagles, who sold Malawi national football team pacey winger Micium Mhone to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Jomo Cosmos for an undisclosed fee, are yet to receive the transfer money from their counterparts.
Mhone signed a two year contract in the summer pocketing K7 million as signing on fee and K1.7 million monthly salary.
However, despite featuring for Cosmos in the PSL, his former club are yet to enjoy the benefits of producing such a talent.
Ben Chiwaya, who represents Cosmos in Malawi, said he has nothing to say on the matter since the club’s accounts department is the one that comments on financial issues.
“I cannot give you more details on the issue. I would rather advise you to talk to Cosmos accounts department. But I must assure you that the club is working on transferring the money on to Blue Eagles’ accounts,” he said.
When contacted, Eagles officials refused to comment on the matter but sources within the club confided with Malawi24 that the area 30 Cops are yet to receive the transfer fee.
