Civo Service United have sacked head coach Millias Pofera following a dismal run of form in the on going 2016 soccer season.
Malawi24 understands that Pofera was relieved off his duties a month ago but he was waiting for the official letter from his employers and finally got the letter of his fate on Friday afternoon.
The former Dedza Young Soccer mentor has been dismissed with Civo 11th in the Super League and five points above the relegation zone following series of seven defeats in 14 opening league games.
Confirming the development to Malawi24 was the team’s Vice General Secretary Leonard Chiwaula.
“It’s true, we have dismissed Millias Pofera as our head coach following a dismal run of form in the on going soccer season. We earlier consulted our sponsors on the future of the team and they agreed to have the coach removed from his position.”
“He got his letter on Friday and the team is now in the hands of Charles Manda till January next year,” said Chiwaula.
On his part, Jegwe confirmed that he has indeed received the letter of his dismisal as Civo Coach but says he will consult his legal team on the way forwad.
“I have indeed recieved the letter of my dismisal as Civo Service United head coach but I will not comment much until I go through the document and possibly consult my lawyer to see the way forward,” he said.
Pofera succeeded Oscar Kaunda late this year but the going got tough when his team perfomed misserably in both cup games and league matches.
To make matters worse, Pofela lost the dressing room control when some ‘senior’ players demanded for his dismisal as their coach.
