The Central Region Netball League has secured a 2.5 million Kwacha sponsorship from Women Clinic after running for five years without any sponsor.
Lilongwe and Districts Netball League (LDNL) chairperson Charity Malanga confirmed the development and said that the sponsorship will open a new chapter in the netball league.
“This is a breath of fresh air as we have been struggling a lot since BioClincal Partners pulled out in 2011. We are excited and appreciative to Women Clinic for its gesture,” Malanga said.
More than 20 netball teams are expected to participate in the league’s new season which is expected to start in March.
There is hope that the coming in of Women clinic to sponsor the central region league will boost competition in the league, a development which will make Lilongwe based teams to be stronger and to be able to compete favourably at national level.
That’s very nice.
