Police in Kasungu district are keeping in custody 35- year-old man for sexually abusing and impregnating his own 17 year-old daughter.
Public Relations for the Police Station Edna Mzingwitsa said the rapist who cannot be identified separated with his wife last year and the woman together with the girl left the couple’s home.
“But in January the man went to the wife’s home village where he took the victim to be staying with him,” she explained.
However, when the two were staying together the father began raping the teenage girl and eventually she got pregnant.
After discovering that the father is responsible for the girl’s pregnancy, the wife of the suspect reported the matter to police.
The evil father has since been charged with incest in accordance with section 157 of the penal code and will appear before court soon.
