Devotion: Be strong and courageous

Jos 1:6-8 WEB* “Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.”

Before the good success, Joshua was told several times by God to be strong and courageous. There is no good success without challenges. In everything that you can think of doing, there are specific challenges for it. If you want to do any good Work and succeed, be ready for challenges including disappointments. If you have a vision for a successful business or better job, career, there are challenges. So be strong and be courageous till the end. Only overcomers receive the rewards.Rev 21:7 KJV* “He that overcometh shall inherit all things…”

What do you overcome? You overcome shame, disappointments, persecutions, low self image and any other negatives. Focus much on the vision and the crown. Dont focus on the hinderances. YOUR DESIRE FOR SUCCESS SHOULD OUTWAY YOUR FEAR OF FAILURE. Take what Jesus did. His desire for saving mankind outwayed fear of shame and the cross. Heb 12:2 KJV* “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Prov 28:1 “The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion”. Dont fear even if others are failing. You are not others. Be bold and be courageous. You are unique. 1 Sam 17 tells us that when all men of Israel including King Saul were hiding from Goliath, a teenager David without any war experience volunteered to fight the Giant. He was strong and coutageous and his desire for victory outwayed his fear of death. Today we talk about him.Dont give up, you are more than a Conquerer through Christ(Romans 8:37).

Confession
I will never give up, I will never quit. Victory is my name. Greater is He who is in me than the one who is in the world. I am a righteous and I dont fear. I know who I am. I am strong and courageous in Jesus Name. Amen.
