Reports by Nigerian newspapers indicate that Boko Haram is ready to surrender and free all the girls held in captive should the Nigerian government agree not to prosecute members of the radical Islamic group.

“We want to surrender because things are getting worse” Amir Muhammad Abdullahi, a senior Boko Haram militant, has been quoted as saying.

Other reports indicate that some members have deserted the group and converted to Christianity.

Of the 219 girls who were abducted from Chibok secondary school in Borno state by Boko Haram which has emerged as one of the most feared terrorist groups worldwide, only one girl has been rescued.

Despite issuing the warning, the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) revealed that the group carried an attack in Bosso town on Nigeria-Niger border.

At least 32 people were killed while 50 thousand people freed the town following the attack.

In a related development, the United States has warned it’s citizens in South Africa of an impending terror attack.
