Mtambo said election day is an important day which need to be recognized as a holiday to pave way for electorates to exercise their right to vote.

“It is a day people decide of their next government of the next five years. This is a day that people choose their future.

“In addition to that, this is a day that people exercise their right. So we do not want to see people failing to vote because of their job, this will even reduce voter apathy and as HRDC we are saying we are not asking too much because this comes every 5 years,” appealed Mtambo.

The chairperson further said Election Day is a day that people confirm that they are really true employers of the leaders that govern them hence government should to declare it a public holiday.
