Police have arrested a 19 year-old man suspected to have been involved in the killing of a person with albinism in Nkhata-Bay.
The suspect, Frank Mkweni, was being hunted by the police who were tipped that he was involved in the murder of Yasin Phiri, a person with albinism.
Northern Region Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Maurice Chapola, said the law enforcers arrested Mkweni on Thursday night in the same district.
Earlier on Thursday, the law enforcers also arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Phiri.
They are Francis Chipateni Kaluwa aged 37 of Makowola Traditional Authority Zilakoma, Ceaser Banda aged 31 of Kauta Village Traditional Authority Fukamapiri and Lawrence Theu aged 32 of Makokola village Traditional Authority Zilakoma in Nkhatabay.
Phiri was murdered at his home on New Year’s Eve and his 9-year-old son witnessed the murder.
