Lucius Banda set to join MCP

Sole United Democratic Front (UDF) Member of Parliament in the August House, Lucius Banda will be joining the leading opposition party Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

Media reports which have been verified by independent sources have revealed that Banda will be joining ranks with the Lazarus Chakwera led party after falling out with his UDF which is in bed with the ruling DPP.

“Lucius cannot forget the humiliation he suffered under DPP, so he would rather be joining MCP,” a source said.

The source disclosed that Banda was only staying in UDF because moving to MCP fully will make him lose his seat in Parliament.

“However, he will be supporting MCP ideas and propositions in Parliament. By 2019, he will fully move to MCP,” the source said.

Media reports have revealed that Banda will be performing at a rally the MCP has organised in the Lower Shire to welcome Sidik Mia whom rumour has it that he has been promised the running mate post in the 2019 polls by MCP leader Lazarus Chakwera.

Yes, he has been hired but politically he has been used to embarrass his party UDF for aligning with DPP. Don’t just look at it that he has gone to make money but that he doesn’t care about UDF. By respecting UDF, as a UDF member of parliament, to avoid conflict of interest, he had the right to turn down the offer no matter how much they offered him.
