A six year old girl has been injured as a building she was in fell on after a heavy downpour on Saturday in Dedza district.
The rains also destroyed up to 20 houses in the district.
The girl, Tionge Nyemba was in a house before it fell on her and inured her.
Group village headman Lobi in the district said families need support due to the disaster.
He added that 4 school blocks have also been destroyed with the rains in the area.
Meanwhile the department of disaster is yet to respond to the Dedza disaster with support to the victims.
The incident follows series of disaster since Malawi started receiving rains for the 2016/17 farming season.
