Government has blasted Prophet Sheperd Bushiri for donating K44 million to the Malawi national football team instead of government Account Number One.

Minister of sports Grace Chiumia, according to a report by one of the local radio stations, said government is not pleased that Bushiri donated the money directly to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) rather than through the Ministry of Finance.

But Bushiri said he made the donation as a soccer loving Malawian and added that he had to do it quickly so the Flames could travel travel to Guinea.

When Bushiri was distributing maize to the hungry malawians, the govt did not thank him for doing so and even he still continues to be a good citizen in his charitable acts, still the govt blames him….the govt becons me to a question, is donating an illegal act in malawi? And at some point I come to agree with the govt but they are misplacing their anger; instead of putting it on the challenges facing the dying nation they put on such people of good will. Yes the govt knows the areas which are in great need of funding coz it runs the govt but Bushiri don’t and in addition he does not stay in Malawi… so it sounds unfair to blame him. I think the best the govt could hv done and can still do is to ask for a help from such willing to help individuals so as to deal wit critical issues at hand. Otherwise I would like to sincere thank Bushiri and all those of good will for what they are doing to my people and my nation…God bless Malawi-Amen…
