Nyasa Big Bullets returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu on Saturday.
The People’s Team registered their first loss of the season last week but on Saturday afternoon they saw off Moyale to collect three points.
Bullets got the lead in the 37th minute when Moyale’s Victor Mwale scored an own goal as he was trying to clear the ball in the box.
The Blantyre based side doubled their lead in the last minute of the first half through a Precious Phiri powerful shot.
In the second half, Bullets piled more pressure on Moyale but failed to increase their lead.
In a post-match interview, Bullets coach Callisto Pasuwa said their tactics worked.
“We started slow but we settled later that’s why we managed to score two goals, we knew Moyale play aerial balls so we planned to plant a strong center to control the game. It worked for us as we collected three points,” said Pasuwa.
Team Manager for Moyale Barracks Victor Phiri accepted the defeat saying his side gave away two goals.
Bullets are now on position four with 13 points from 6 games. Moyale remain with 10 points and following the loss they have dropped to position eight.
On Sunday, Bullets will play Mzuni at the same Mzuzu Stadium.
