Moyale Barracks FC team manager Victor Phiri has urged his side to find a level of consistency in their performances in matches if the club is to achieve a top six finish in the league this season.
Phiri’s sentiments follows the Lions of Kaning’ina’s below par performance in a 1-0 surrender to cross town rivals Mzuni FC in a derby match played at the Karonga Stadium last Saturday.
Speaking in an interview, the Moyale team manager said it’s not good enough for his charges to turn up in certain matches and not others.
He added that if they are to achieve their objectives the team must find a level of consistency in upcoming fixtures and throughout the season.
“We were excellent against TN Stars when we won 3-0 but we failed to build on that performance against Mzuni which was disappointing hence we need to be more consistent”, he said.
Phiri also urged the Moyale Barracks fans not to lose hope as the season is still in its infancy.
“The good thing is that the season has just begun thus we still have time to rectify the issues that we have seen so far hence we expect to have a good season if we can find our level of consistency,” he articulated.
According to renowned football pundit in the north Rudovikio Nyirenda, Moyale have been underperforming for the past two seasons therefore he sees them continuing having an up and down season.
He observed that the soldiers tend to raise their game when playing big sides but underrate small sides hence their struggles for consistency.
Currently, Civil Sporting head the 16 team member league with a maximum 9 points from their 3 games while Moyale sit 6th on the log table with 4 points from 4 games.
