Bushiri snubs DEPECO

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri

Leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has snubbed a call to join the newly formed Democratic People’s Congress (DEPECO).

This comes after DEPECO acting President Chris Daza disclosed to have approached the South African based prophet Bushiri to join active politics through DEPECO.

Speaking during a presser on Sunday in Lilongwe, Daza disclosed that Bushiri is among those invited to join the party ahead of 2019 general elections in the country.

Daza was optimistic Bushiri will accept the invitation since the prophet is his close friend and spiritual father.

But Bushiri through ECG Communication Director Ephraim Nyondo has downplayed the reports arguing he has not been invited to join the party.

Nyondo added further that Bushiri has no interest in Malawian politics.

Rumours have been spreading that Bushiri will join politics with the aim of becoming the next president.

Bushiri was said to be making donations to Malawians as part of his ambitious plans to become president of Malawi.
