Woman killed over witchcraft

A mob in Lilongwe on Tuesday killed a woman after community members accused her of killing a 10-year-old boy through witchcraft.

The incident occurred at Mitanda village in area of   Senior Chief Kalumba in Lilongwe.

According to Nathenje police public relations officer superintendent John Namalenga, villagers claimed that the old woman killed the 10-year-old boy who died mysteriously in the area.

“The boy Christon Ntambo died after a short illness which made people in the area to suspect the old woman of bewitching him,” Namalenga said.

According to Namalenga, the boy’s mother also told villagers that she witnessed mysterious things before the death of the child. This convinced the community members that the old woman killed the boy and they later murdered her.

Police are yet to make arrests in connection to the killing but they have advised the general public against taking the law into their own hands.

When Judas betrayed Jesus to be killed, they hung him to death and Judas also hanged himself up and died the same death.   25. So, by killing the woman, are they better people than the suspected woman? They are clearly murderers as opposed to the suspicion they had against her without any proof at all. Two wrongs cannot make a right and the police must hunt down the killers of the woman and charge them with murder!
