Blantyre City Council (BCC) will on Monday launch the city health week to promote cleanliness and healthy living in the city.
According to the BCC’s Facebook page, the week has been set aside to encourage residents to always keep their domestic or business premises clean all the time.
The city said the climax of the health week will be the recognition of the cleanest premises under the Clean House and Business Premises Competition.
The launch of the campaign whose theme is ‘Keep Blantyre City Clean’ will take place at Old Town Hall along Victoria Avenue starting from 9:30a.m.
Reports from the city indicates that the event will be hosted by the Mayor of the city, Wild Ndipo and it will be presided over by Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankhumwa.
Meanwhile the council has urged residents to embrace the health week for a healthy living and a health city.
