Terrible! Pakistani national rapes a Malawian girl, hides her in fridge

Malawi Police officers at Liwonde in Machinga district are keeping in custody a 33 year-old man from Pakistani after he hid in a fridge a Malawian teenager he had sexually abused.

Eastern Region Police spokesperson inspector Joseph Sauka has identified the suspect as Raja Zeeshan who is a Pakistani national.

He said the suspect sexually abused the victim for over two weeks.

According to Sauka, the victim left her home in Liwonde on 3rd August, 2016 claiming that she was going to Zomba to see her relatives.

Since then, her parents were thinking that the victim was in Zomba until Thursday, 18th August when they were tipped by well-wishers that their daughter was seen in the suspect’s shop which is within Liwonde Township.

On Friday morning, the girl’s parents went to ask the suspect about reports that he was keeping the child but he denied.

Not convinced with the response, the parents reported the matter to Liwonde Police who went to the suspect’s house.

When the police asked of the whereabouts of the girl, the suspect again denied keeping her. But upon searching the house, the girl was found hidden in a deep freezer which was not connected to electricity.

The victim was then taken to Machinga District Hospital for examination and the results showed that she was really raped.

Meanwhile, the suspect is still in Police custody and is expected to appear before court soon where he will answer a case of defilement of a girl under the age of 16 which is contrary to section 138 (1) of the Penal code.

Raja Zeeshan comes from Pakistan but was residing at Liwonde Township where he was doing business.
