The late Sergeant Steven Kambalame (38) was based at Malawi Armed Forces College in Salima. He hails from Maya Village, Traditional Authority Kachere in Dedza District and is survived by a wife and two children.
Late Private Chauncy Chitete (29) was based at Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu. He hails from Peter Village, Traditional Authority Mwenemisuku in Chitipa District and is survived by a wife and three children.
Late Private Benjamin Nsongela (29) was based at Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu. He hails from Chikhawo Village, Traditional Authority Tengani in Nsanje District. He is survived by a wife and three children.
Late Private Simplex Taferakaso (31) was based at Changalume Barracks in Zomba. He hails from Kaumphawi Village, Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka District.
“MDF has lost courageous, hardworking and disciplined soldiers who were always ready to serve to ensure that peace prevails both within and outside the country. MDF greatly mourns the deaths of these brave soldiers and their families have been informed accordingly. We keep the families in our prayers during this difficult time” said Chiphwanya.
He said the remains of the four soldiers will be repatriated to Malawi once United Nations procedures on such incidents are completed.

May the souls of our beloved army rest in peace, and may God give they families true comfort so painful but be strong.To the government of our country pliz stop to sent our army to Congo because its you who are benefiting from that every Malawian who want to entry Congo we pay visa $50us why if they are our friends, what do we benefit from they war,who is getting something from Kabila,WEAK UP MALAWI ,our leaders are answerable same one is getting something
