DPP still having sleepless nights over Mia

The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) seems to still be spending sleepless nights over the decision by former minister Sidik Mia to join the opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP). The ruling party is now using every means to attack Mia.

In a new twist, Minister of Information Nicholas Dausi has attacked the new MCP member saying he is using his money to attain the vice president position in the opposition party.

Dausi who is also a senior member of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) was speaking on taxpayer funded Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in a program called Chindunji.

According to Dausi, Mia used his money to vie for vice presidency in MCP which the minister said is unethical in politics.

“MCP should not rope in people to vie for positions because of their money but people who have capability to function,” he said.

Dausi further insisted that MCP will never rule the country again and come 2019 DPP will win the elections.

The minister who was a member of the Malawi Young Pioneers during the one party era also urged Malawians to never forget how MCP ill-treated people when it was in power.

Mia joined the Lazarus Chakwera led MCP last month and since then the DPP has been accusing Chakwera of selling the party for K200 million.

  20. Of all the people, Dausi should be the last person accusing Mia of practicing unethical politics! Is there any minister in the DPP govt who is ethical? None at all. I watched Dausi on Tv and he said he indeed was Kamuzu’s bodyguard. He then blamed MCP members of his time for atrocities commuted against Malawians but he deliberately left out the fact that he was also one of the people involved in those atrocities. He cannot fool us by blaming the current MCP members who were not there during his time. Does Dausi mean that when his DPP buys opposition members the process is ethical but unethical when other people do it? Leave Mia alone bwana Dausi! If the man does not send shivers along your spine then why bother talking about him? And on a TV (MBC) that Mia has no chance of defending himself, shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. I feel pity with those still living in the one party error when people like Dausi used to abuse and kill others in the name of MCP. Now they are in DPP and we have seen mysterious deaths of innocent people like Njauju, Chasowa, Mbendera, Bakuwa, the 20 July scenario and many more. And still someone has the audacity to deceive people about DPP winning again in 2019. Shame!!!! Oro kuli kubera DPP sidzawinanso.
