Malawi national football team coach Ronny Van Geneugden (RVG) has promised an entertaining encounter between the Flames and Comoros Island on Saturday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

The tactician has told the local media that a great game should be expected, as he is satisfied with the pace at which his charges are adapting to his football philosophy.

Flames face Comoros today.

He said smart passing football will be the order of the afternoon from the Flames adding that a positive result should therefore be expected as they wish to start the campaign on a high note.

With morale flaring in the camp ahead of the clash, the boys look forward to buy back national trust with a victory. The arrival of foreign based players has largely ignited confidence in the squad as they do final touches in readiness for the game.

The Islanders arrived on Thursday, hoping to return home with nothing but maximum points having lost a friendly game against Togo by 2 nil last week. They are here fully prepared with all their arsenal.

Sadly for the Flames, they will be without South Africa based midfield maestro Robert Ng’ambi. The Platinum Stars playmaker flew back to the rainbow nation to attend to his wife who was involved in an accident.

However, other foreign based players, Frank Gabadinho Mhango, Gerald Phiri Junior, Limbikani Mzava, John Banda and Charles Swini are available for the game.

Malawi last played Comoros Island in 2008 at Cosafa tournament. A Fisher Kondowe goal made the difference as the Flames recorded a one nil victory.
