TNM Super League golden boot battle: Mbulu, Wadabwa, Chiukepo, who will come out top?

With four games to wind up the 2016 TNM Super League season, the battle for Malawi’s elite football golden boot award is getting hotter every week with just three goals separating the three top contenders for this year’s Tnm Super League golden boot award.

Mafco fc striker Richard Mbulu has a two goal advantage over Be Forward Wanderers bulldozer Peter Wadabwa who is second with 16 goals whereas Nyasa Big Bullets striker Chiukepo Msowoya is third with 15 league goals.

The Mafco hitman and Nomads striker Wadabwa are looking to win the award for the first time in the history of Malawi football whereas Chiukepo will be hoping to win it for the second year in a row after winning the award last year as a joint top goal scorer with Red Lions striker Innocent Bokosi.

But who will come first among the three hot Malawi Super League top goal scorer contenders?

Mbulu is currently leading the scorer’s chart with 18 goals and is also on odds favourite to become this season’s top goal scorer in Malawi elite league.

Looking at Mbulu’s scoring record this season in the league, it is not hard for him to bang in a few more goals in Mafco’s remaining five games.

Wadabwa is second favourite to win the award and considering his recent scoring record in the league it is also easy for him to overtake Mbulu who is leading.

Wadabwa and the Nomads have four games to wind up 2016 Tnm Super League season and the striker’s destiny to win the golden boot is in his own hands and he should also be praying that Mbulu should not score many goals in the next few weeks.

Nyasa Big Bullets striker Chiukepo Msowoya is third favourite to win the title with four games to wind up the season.

To win the award, Chiukepo has to score at least a goal in each of Bullets’ remaining matches and he should also be hoping that Mbulu and Wadabwa who are ahead of him should be scoring lesser goals than him.
