First Lady tells women to help end albino attacks

Malawi’s First Lady Gertrude Mutharika has called on women in the country to rise up and take action against attacks on people with albinism.

In her remarks at Kamuzu Palace during a meeting with the leadership and members of the Association of Persons with Albinism in Malawi (APAM), Mutharika described the killings, abductions, and maiming of persons with albinism as terror against all mothers who feel the most pain when their children are in pain.

The First Lady who is also a patron for APAM, vowed to do everything possible as a mother and a citizen of this nation to ensure that the violence comes to an end.

She said that the fight against these ongoing killings is her fight and a fight of all mothers.

“I want to assure you, we are together in this fight. Victory may seem to elude us at this moment, but my faith informs me that with God everything is possible. We just need to stand united, have the right frame of mind to employ the right strategies and actions. We shall surely overcome,” she said.

Overton Kondowe who spoke on behalf of APAM explained that the association picked Madam Mutharika as their patron upon conviction of her ability to take up challenging responsibilities.

“Your acceptance to take up this position at this challenging time is a source of hope and joy for us,” said Kondowe.

Last week, thugs hacked the hand of a woman with albinism in Chitipa. Police have since arrested one suspect in connection with the evil act.

How can some one, say ,she must wait for her husband to put in_then b4 husband realising the wife must crying had while the physical activity is still in ? What is the communication of what you are saying and what she have said ? At least, she have come with good Idea, don’t u see ? Or may be some of u , u just say about what some one have said ?
