The Malawi government has announced plans to hire and promote teachers in line with its objectives of provision of quality, accessible and equitable education.
This brings to rest speculations about trained teachers waiting for ages before they start discharging their duties. Trained teachers feared emptiness of Capital Hill Coffers may haunt the education sector through delayed posting of teachers.
A press release from the ministry of education stipulates that a total of 10966 teachers will be recruited; 10500 primary school teachers and 466 Secondary School teachers. The exercise is said to have already started with the first group set to be hired next month.
“The recruitment process has already begun with primary school teachers who will be hired from April 2016. This will be followed by recruitment of secondary school teachers whose advertisement will be floated soon,” reads part of the statement.
There is more good news in the education sector as 1281 teachers will be promoted to different grades in accordance their qualifications and experiences. The number of teachers has been broken down as follows: 169 x Principal Primary School Teachers (Grade TJ) 516 X Secondary School Teachers (Grade TJ) 483 X Secondary School Teachers (Grade TI) 50 x Lecturer (Grade TI.

WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT IS THIS?WOULD YOU ANSWER ME THIS QUESTION..”WHY DO YOU SPARE OTHER QUALIFIED TEACHERS TO BE REMAINING IN THEIR HOMES WHILE MORE CHILDREN OF MALAWI ARE LACKING THEM TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS?”SHOULD WE SAY THAT YOU HAVE EMERGED THE HABIT OF LEAVING TEACHERS TO BE STAYING FOR SOME YEAR AT THEIR DENS AND THEN BE EMPLOYED? OR THEY SHOULD WAIT FOR THE NEXT BUDGET?………MMMMMMMM TIRED OF YOU….THINK OF YOUR FELLOWS MALAWIAN KIDS…
Yes! That’s a good plan, but one problem that has been seen is u fails to fulfill. Shortage of staff especially in the schools of rural areas is so big. Our eyes r open.
Good Governance, I Heard That They Also Want To Recruit 3000 Polices, 1000 Prison Warder, 1000 Agricuiture Clerks.
So good

Government has no concern on the education of its citizen. People in power happily sending their kids abroad for good education. Deployement of teachers come always come in amidst compagning over a political will. If i were you, i would have improved the quality standard of education in this country and call back my children from abroad to enjoy the fruits of changes
