Malawi’s top flight league seems to be tough and tight as teams are battling for good positions.
Some teams like Red Lions are playing poorly and this led to the firing of their coach last week. Red Lions sacked head coach, Collins Nkuna, and his assistant Mike Kumanga.
Nkuna said he has accepted his fate.
“I am not worried with the development since we got communication from our chairman Major Chilambe who is also our commanding officer at Cobbe Barracks that we may be deployed to other MDF teams,” said Nkuna.
Meanwhile Red Lions have made changes by bringing in Pritchard Mwansa as interim coach for the rest of this season. The team is now remaining with only nine games to wrap up their season and they are currently on position seven with 30 points from 19 games.
Nkuna is the third casualty among coaches this season after Mafco and Silver strikers also sacked Sterio Gondwe and Stain Chirwa respectively.
The Reds have also been hugely affected by the eight month suspension of eight of their players.
