Airtel Malawi Plc, on Tuesday, successfully concluded its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which had been previously adjourned, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, growth, and delivering value to shareholders and customers.

Despite revising its 2023 financial results to reflect a K15 billion loss after tax due to revised accounting treatments for US$ indexed tower lease contracts, the company assured shareholders of its robust growth prospects and unwavering commitment to transparency.

“Airtel Malawi remains committed to delivering value to its shareholders and customers, continuing its journey of innovation and excellence in the telecommunications industry,” said Board Director Mark Mikwamba.

The company’s recent financial performance demonstrates this commitment, with a K21.3 billion profit after tax for the half-year ended June 30, 2024, representing 16.7% growth compared to 2023.

Outgoing Managing Director Charles Kamoto’s leadership has been instrumental in driving growth since 2014, cementing Airtel Malawi’s market-leading position.

With its commitment to transparency, innovation, and customer satisfaction, Airtel Malawi is poised for continued success in Malawi’s telecommunications sector.
