The Nomads’ fight to defend the league is now on the pitch, off the pitch and through blows.
On Saturday, Joseph Kamwendo’s substitution angered him so much that he went to slam his Team Manager Steven Madeira with whom he exchanged blows during the Nomads’ match against Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Kamwendo was pulled off for Mischek Botomani in the second half but went furious against Madeira whom he believes was behind the substitution.
Kamwendo was seen protesting against the decision and went straight to Madeira on technical area shouting at the Team Manager before the two went into a heated row and were seen exchanging a couple of blows.
Referee Mayamiko Kanjere later showed Madeira matching orders. Kamwendo was denied a place at the substitutes’ bench and he went to the dressing room before the 1-all affair ended.
Reports that Malawi24 have been following indicate that there has been bad blood between the two. It is said Kamwendo has felt Madeira holds qualms against him.
This comes when the Nomads are recovering from a loss in the finals of the Carlsberg Cup against Masters Security a fortnight ago when they gave away a 1 nil lead to fall out in post-match penalties against the Lilongwe based side.
The draw today, means the Nomads are still in the title race but the 1-0 win that town rivals Nyasa Big Bullets recorded against Blue Eagles has left the People’s Team close to becoming champions.
Kamwendo thinks he is above everyone at noma no wonder he is behaving in that way
