Not going up or down. Just stuck in the same place.
That’s the story of the Malawi National Football Team the Flames who have maintained their agonising position on the Coca-Cola FIFA rankings.
According to the October edition released on Thursday, Malawi are ranked 125 just as they were last month.
The Flames were beaten 1-0 by Cameroon before holding them at home to a goalless draw in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Flames are third in Group B with four points and their qualification chances will depend on their results against Comoros Island and Morocco.
On the continental level, Tunisia leads the standings alongside Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco and Egypt.
And for the first time in history, Belgium have moved top of the world rankings ahead of world champions France by just a single point.
The two sides shared first place in previous edition of the rankings.
England moved into the top five, passing Uruguay along the way while Brazil remain third ahead of World Cup runners-up Croatia.
