Mighty Be Forward Wanderers on Wednesday had to rely on penalties to beat Simama Premier League side Fish Eagles and secure a place in Carlsberg Cup Round of 16.

Harry Nyirenda put nomads ahead in 20th minute after a free kick from the edge of the 18 yard box.

Four minutes later Fish Eagles through Brian Phiri levelled the scores after Richard Chipuwa failed to clear the ball.

First half ended 1-1.

In the second half both teams failed to find the back of the net and the game went straight to penalties.

Stanley Sanudi, Alfred Manyozo, Mike Kaziputa, Jabulani Linje, Jafali Chande and Joseph Kamwendo all scored for Nomads while Gift Nyando missed Eagles’ sixth penalty to send Nomads through after winning 6-5.

However, coach for Wanderers Yasin Osman was not happy with the way his boys played.

“Am not happy because my boys were underrating the game but thank God we are through into the next round,” said Osman.

Eagles’ Christopher Nyambose hailed his boys for their performance.

“My boys played well, Wanderers is a good side but all in all congratulations to them,” he said.
