...Blue Eagles lock horns with Silver Strikers

Blue Eagles take on Silver Strikers at Nankhaka Stadium in the pick of the fixtures in the third week of the Super League second round.

The Bankers are coming from a comfortable 4-nil victory over struggling Max Bullets on Wednesday last week and they will be looking to maintain their form against the league leaders who have played 180 minutes without scoring a goal.

In the first round, Eagles’ five match unbeaten run was halted by the Bankers who came from behind to win 2-1.

Separated by two points on the log table, victory for the Central Bankers will see them climbing top of the standings with 35 points and a game in hand.

Gilbert Chirwa, Maxwell Salambula, Steve Chagoma, Tsanzo Dalio and Wister Phiri will be the players to watch for the Area 30 based side while Duncan Nyoni, Binwell Katinji, Lucky Malata and Thuso Paipi will be some of the players to watch for the Area 47 side.

At Mzuzu Stadium, defending league champions Big Bullets will lock horns with Moyale Barracks.

The two sides shared one point apiece in the first round but the Soldiers will be aiming to avenge that painful 4-3 defeat in the Presidential Cup final at Civo Stadium.

This will be Bullets’ first game of the two they will play in the Northern Region and if they collect six points, the People’s Team will be topping the standings with 37 points.

Chimwemwe Kumkwawa will definitely be between the two sticks for Bullets, with Pilirani Zonda returning to the first eleven after recovering from a leg injury.

But without six key players, Bullets will have a mountain to climb if they are to come out of the two games with maximum points.

At Kamuzu Stadium, newly crowned Carlsberg Cup champions Mighty Wanderers will play host to rookies Karonga United.

The two teams played to a goalless draw in the first round.

The Nomads will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 1-all draw to Red Lions on Wednesday but they must tread very carefully with an unpredictable Karonga United.

At Civo Stadium, Civo Service United will entertain Red Lions while Mafco FC will play host to Epac FC. On Sunday, Mzuni FC will host Big Bullets at Mzuzu Stadium while Azam Tigers will lock horns with Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium.
