A 41 year old Health Surveillance Assistant died Wednesday after he was hit by a motor vehicle while crossing the road at Lizulu Trading Centre.
The victim has been identified as Mr Samuel who was working as an HSA at Lizulu Health Centre.
According to police in the district, George Kafere aged 44 was driving a motor vehicle registration number MG 288, AG Steed Twincab, from the direction of Ntcheu heading to Dedza, along the M1 road with two passengers on board.
At Lizulu, the vehicle hit Samuel who died on the spot.
Postmortem results from Lizulu Health Centre indicated that death was due to severe head injuries.
The victim hailed from Muuso village, Traditional Authority Mpando, in the District.
In March this year, Ntcheu District registered a total of three fatal accidents, claiming 23 lives, including the tragic Kampepuza accident which claimed 21 lives and left many people injured.
Meanwhile, Police in the district are reminding all road uses to observe road signs and adhere to speed limit rules at all times to avoid accidents.
