…Dausi moved to Homeland Security
President Peter Mutharika has reshuffled his cabinet, bringing in Democratic Progressive Party Regional Governor for the South Charles Mchacha and firing Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Anna Kachikho.
Mutharika has appointed Mchacha as Deputy Minister of Homeland Security (formerly Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security) which is headed by Nicholas Dausi.
According to a statement released tonight by Chief Secretary to the Government Lloyd Muhara, the Department of Disaster Management Affairs will move to the Ministry of Homeland Security.
The ministry was previously headed by Cecilia Chazama who has been moved to Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare. Chazama has replaced Jean Kalirani who is now Minister of Lands.
In the new cabinet, Henry Mussa has been appointed Minister of Information and Communications Technology to replace Dausi while Mussa’s old portfolio of Trade, Industry and Tourism has been handed to Francis Kasaila who was Minister of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development.
That post is now held by Grace Chiumia who has been moved from Ministry of Civic Education, Culture and Community Development where she has been replaced with Everton Chimulirenji.
Mutharika has also appointed Chitipa South legislator Werani Chilenga as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining.
However, Vice President Saulos Chilima is not on the list of members of cabinet which Muhara has released.
Chilima has been accused of not working since he left the DPP to join the newly formed UTM.
He is a vice president of the nation not dpp, why he wasnt on a list. Lets use our freedom, its not of having his own party then he has to be treated in that way.
You are just showing your weaknesses Peter.
Let him do what he feels, this is a free country.
Where is our freedom?
Mchacha paulendo paulendo paulendo!!!!
Gross violation of the constitution. Chilima was supposed to be on that list as the Vice President. Does this means Chilima has been fired? Let us wait and see.
