The abuse of young people by politicians has irked youth belonging to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) who have told political leaders to stop abusing the youth during rallies.
The Mzuzu University (Mzuni) MCP Youth Wing said politicians take the youths as weapons to suppress opponents and not potential partners in development.
Chairperson of Mzuni MCP Youth Wing Zengani Chala urged politicians to stop abusing the youth in the country.
“Am sending a strong message to politicians of this country that they must use the youths for positive development of the country, the youths being vibrant in societies, must be involved in activities of development and not being painted for political rallies,” said Chala.
Malawi youths usually get involved in fights due to political differences. At political parties, young people paint themselves in party colours to show their love for their political parties.
