An eight year-old boy in Mangochi district has died after falling off a moving vehicle.
According to Mangochi Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Amina Tepani Daudi, the accident happened on Monday at Chipalamawamba village along Chipalamawamba-Mangochi earth road.
She said the boy, Idrissah Labana, was together with several other people travelling in a Toyota Hilux registration number BN 8836 which was coming from the direction of Chipalamawamba heading to Mangochi town.
“As the vehicle was within Chipalamawamba village Idrissah Labana fell down from the moving vehicle,” said Daudi.
Following the fall, Labana sustained internal injuries and was rushed to Mangochi District Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It is also suspected that the deceased jumped on his own from the moving car but police are still investigating the matter to find out what really happened.
The deceased hailed from Chipalamawamba village, Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi district.
