Man rapes, impregnates daughter

A 43 year-old man is in police custody at Mchinji police station for repeatedly raping his 15 year-old biological daughter and impregnating her.

Mchinji Police Public Relations Officer Kaitano Lubrino said the police arrested the libidinous father Lucas Mtimakulasa on Tuesday.

cuffsAccording to Lubrino, in April the victim’s stepmother whom she stays with was nursing her daughter who was admitted to St. Gabriel Mission Hospital for close to a month.

The paedophile took advantage of the woman’s absence to force himself on his teenage daughter.

On several occasions after sexually abusing girl, the suspect intimidated and instructed the child not to reveal the abuse saying he will kill her.

But early last month the girl started showing signs of pregnancy and was summoned before a forum of elders from the village. She told them that her father was responsible for the pregnancy.

After learning this news, the elders informed village headman Mafuta before the issue was reported to Namizana Police Border Post in Mchinji.

A pregnancy test conducted at Mchinji District Hospital confirmed that the girl is pregnant.

Meanwhile, the suspect will appear before Mchinji magistrate court to answer the charge of incest which is contrary to section 153 of the penal code.

Lucas Mtimakulasa hails from Mafuta village in the area of Traditional Authority Mabvwere in Mchinji.
