Malawian woman abandons three month-old baby

Malawi police in Blantyre are searching for a mother who dumped her 3 month-old baby boy at Kanjedza Seventh Day Church in the city.

qechAssistant Public Relations Officer for Limbe police Sergeant Widson Nhlane said on 30 April 2016 members of Kanjedza Seventh Day Church gathered together for prayers when the woman dumped her baby a few meters from the church building.

”On 30 April 2016 members of the church were conducting prayers and they saw the unknown woman carrying a baby and they thought she was a member of their church,” said Nhlane.

He added that a moment later the woman vanished but she left the baby a few meters from the church building.

The toddler was taken to Limbe police station and later to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for check-up.

Meanwhile, Police officers have launched an investigation to find the woman who has done this.

The Police are also appealing to members of the public to report to police anyone suspected to have done this absurd behaviour.

    1. Plain-Plain mimba usakuifuna, why?
    2. Lack of #Pre_conceptionCareServices i.e why wz she concieving, keeping & delivering a baby she didnt have an idea pertaining to its support & care???

    P.S.: Malawi24, She is a shameless coward…Not a “mother!” Mother? Pliz…She aint close to thah definition and/or adjective.

People don’t know civic education thats the problem in this country,that woman with her ignorance thought that leaving her child at the church premises is the only way but if only she understood the procedure she could have taken right direction maybe to talk to responsible people who could adopt the child instead of criticizing her criticize government for not educating people on what they must do.
