…Mutharika hits at Kabwila’s daughter

The fight between Malawi leader Peter Mutharika and the spokesperson of opposition MCP Jessie Kabwila has taken an ugly turn as the Malawi leader has opted to target his arch enemy’s daughter, Malawi24 has the details.

Information that Malawi24 has indicates that on instructions from Mutharika, the ministry of foreign affairs has decided to terminate an internship of the daughter of Jessue Kabwila who was doing her academic internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a letter dated 2 March 2016 which was signed by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a Mr. B N’goma, and Malawi24 has iin its custody, the ministry of foreign affairs informs Miss Kabwila that her internship has been unceremoniously terminated.

“I am writing to inform you that due to limited office space in some of our departments where you were also supposed to be attached, we have decided to terminate your internship,” reads a part of the letter.

The letter then informs the only daughter of the vocal MP that Friday 4 March was the last day of her internship at the ministry.

The development comes hardly a week after Jessie Kabwila was arrested on the charges that she was plotiing to overthrow the government of Peter Mutharika.

A source at the ministry said that Miss Kabwila was fired on orders from above.

“The ministry did not make the decision to fire her (Miss Kabwila) and the excuse being given for the termination of her internship is flimsy, there were instructions given that she should be relieved,” said a source who opted for anonymity.

Louisa Angela Kabwila is a student and research assistant at the United States International University.

This is actually a good reason for the Americans and the Germans who are accused of supporting the cou plot to give this girl a citizenship and all the privilleges.
