A head on collision occurred on Tuesday morning as a minibus Vanette registration number KU 5240 traveling from Ndirande to Chilobwe collided with a Mercedes Benz at Water Board junction near Kamuzu Stadium in Malawi’s commercial city Blantyre.
The collision occurred when the Mercedes driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the fully loaded minibus.
Four people were seriously injured and the Mercedes driver went unconscious on the spot.
The driver, 22 year old Andrew Kambanje who lives in Ndirande Township as well as the four injured people have since been admitted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and so far no cases of death have been reported.
Meanwhile police have asked drivers to be more careful on the roads as more cases of accidents are being reported during the festive seasons.
