Four of Malawi’s netball heavyweight clubs have qualified for the semifinals of the on-going GOtv netball championship after battling it out at the weekend at Blantyre Youth Centre.
Three teams from Blantyre: Kukoma Diamonds, Thunder Queens and Complex Tigresses, went through alongside Lilongwe based giants Blue Eagles Sisters.
Diamonds made it to the semifinals after finishing on top of GOtv Value group whereas Thunder Queens finished second in the same group.
Blue Eagles and Tigresses finished first and second respectively in the GOtv Plus group.
In the semifinals, Blue Eagles will play against Thunder in the first semifinal while Diamonds will take on Tigresses in the second semifinal.
Four other teams: Mafco, Civonets, Mimosa Queens and Lameck Queens, have been booted out of the championship.
This year’s competition was launched in Mzuzu, and the last phase of the games will be staged in the capital, Lilongwe.
