A polygamous man has beaten to death a man who was having a sexual affair with one of his wives in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe.
Kanengo Police spokesperson Salome Zgambo has identified the deceased as Sandulani Kandulu. 
According to Zgambo, on the fateful day, Kandulu was in the house of the suspect’s wife.
“The suspect got to know about it and went to the house where he tied the victim with ropes and started beating him. He further dipped him in stagnant water from the bathroom while forcing him to drink the bad waters,” Zgambo said.
The victim called for help and people came to rescue him but the suspect was so violent up to the extent of throwing panga knife at the people but he later drove away.
The victim was rushed to Mtema health centre where he was pronounced dead before receiving treatment.
Postmortem conducted at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) showed that death was due to hypoxia (oxygen deficiency) and loss of blood.
The suspect whose particulars are yet to be established is at large and when arrested he will answer the charge of murder.
The deceased hailed from Mphanduya village, Traditional Authority Kabudula in Lilongwe.
