On Saturday, November 7, all roads for intellectuals will lead to Mzimba Secondary School in Malawi’s northern region as the institution will be celebrating its 50 years of existence.
Head teacher for the school, Timothy Kumwenda confirmed to Malawi24 on Tuesday that all preparations for the event are almost over.
He expressed optimism that minister of education, science and technology Dr Emmanuel Fabiano will be the special guest.
“I would say I am happy because it will be colourful because we have managed to produce prominent people at that age,” said Kumwenda.
Malawi24 findings indicate that Harry Mkandawire is one of the public and influential figures that have passed through the corridors of the institution.
In line with this background, Kumwenda invited all those who attained education at Mzimba secondary school to attend the event to inspire the current students.
“Everybody must come. All those who went through Mzimba secondary must attend the event to inspire their fellows who are still here,” he said.
Despite the celebration Malawi24 understands that authorities at the institution have asked well-wishers to help in fixing some problems currently rocking the school.
