In the wake of the controversy surrounding K16 million gross revenue from the Blantyre derby, it has been established that some team officials from the two clubs walked away with cash amounting to more than K10 million.
After it was revealed that the tightly parked Kamuzu Stadium only managed to raise the K16 million, Malawians were left in total disbelief considering that during the same fixture in the first round of the Super League K27 million was realized.
Last week Bullets players boycotted training for a few days demanding the removal of supporters general secretary Mabvuto Chiwamba, supporters treasurer Bruce Tambwali, and the team’s general secretary Titha Mandiza.
Malawi24 can reveal that just after the game between Bullets and Migthy Wanderers, a Wanderers supporter was seen carrying a box full of money as he was heading towards Trade Fair.
A source has told us that the box contained K10 million and that it was an agreement between some officials from Wanderers and Bullets.
“This is one of the Wanderers supporters in collaboration with Bullets supporters and some senior football administrators captured here running away with a box containing the missing K10 million,” said the source.
It has also been reported that Joka Investment, which was given the mandate to man the gate was not registered at the Registrar General’s office.
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) officials went to the Registrar’s offices but it failed to get the details of the company which is owned by Francis Kondwani Kafumbwe.
“When we tried to verify with the registrar General’s office on the authenticity of the certificate, no details were found,” said Sulom’s general secretary Williams Banda.
