More students continue to fail the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), Examinations with the 2015 results showing that the candidates who sat for the national exams slightly 50% have passed.
According to the Malawi National Examination Board (Maneb) only 55.2% candidates of the total have passed.
“Out of 136,296 candidates who sat the exam in at least six subjects including English, 75,296 candidates have passed”, Maneb posted on its Facebook Page this evening.
This comes hot in the heels that the Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) has been abolished as part of the educational reforms.
Some critics have been arguing that the abolition which has sparked debate lately will likely erase the power MSCE, which is written two years after the JCE has.
Last year the pass rate was at 54.8 percent while in 2013 it was at 52.48 percent.
Malawi24 will be posting the pass list soon on its website.
