K13 million for Malawi environmental journalists’ AGM

The Association of Environmental Journalists in Malawi (AEJM) has disclosed plans to have its Annual General Meeting (AGM) during the last quarter of this year with the budget pegged at K13 million.

AEJM president Mathews Malata disclosed that the meeting is to help Malawi’s journalists passionate about environmental issues to have relevant skills through trainings that are to be conducted.

Malata added that the meeting is to end with dinner to award journalists who had passion to carry news articles on environmental related issues in Malawi.

“We need K13 million to make this event of international standard, inviting all of you under one roof and engaging other service providers is a challenge we are excited about,” said Malata.

He added further by appealing to the corporate world to support the meeting financially.

Established in 2011, AEJM strives for trustworthy and robust journalism that informs and engages society on environmental issues.
