A 22-year-old woman died on Monday after she jumped out of a moving motor vehicle at Mpamba in Nkhatabay district.Confirming the development was Nkhatabay police publicist Ignatius Esau who identified the deceased as Bridget Phiri.Esau said the young woman together with two friends got on the Isuzu pickup without the knowledge of the driver, Charles Zulu, who was coming from Mpamba trading centre heading to Mzuzu.
   According to Esau, the three girls boarded the pickup at Mpamba trading centre thinking the driver was going to his house which is near their homes.Upon seeing that the driver was proceeding to Mzuzu direction, the three girls decided to jump from the vehicle whilst it was moving.As Zulu was driving towards Strabag camp site, the girls jumped out of the vehicle but Bridget sustained head injuries and died on the spot.Her friends suffered minor injuries and were treated as out-patients at Mpamba health centre.Bridget Phiri hailed from Champhala village in the area of Traditional Authority Timbiri in Nkhatabay district
