A 22 year-old Malawian woman has hanged herself to death in Mangochi district after her husband accused her of cheating on him.
Mangochi Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Amina Daudi has identified the deceased as Rhoda Piyasi.
Daudi said the woman had a fight with her husband after he had accused her of having extra-marital affairs.
“On Wednesday she just left her house to an unknown destination without telling anyone, people searched everywhere but never found her,” said Daudi.
But on Thursday she was found hanging from a tree at a mountain in the same village.
Postmortem conducted at Nankumba Health Centre revealed that death was due to suffocation.
The dead body was buried at the same place because it was in a decomposed state.
Piyasi hailed from Kapado village Traditional Authority Nankumba in Mangochi district.
