Police in Kasungu are keeping in custody a 12 year-old boy identified as Mbiri Chosadziwa for murdering a 34 year-old man.
Public relations officer for Kasungu police Edna Mzingwitsa said the suspect hit a man identified as Bernard Mwale who later died.
According to Mzingwitsa, on the day of the incident Mwale was driving a lorry to Chiteyeye location in Kasungu to ferry sand.
“Whilst on the way, children from the location jumped into the lorry while it was in motion and this angered the deceased,” she said.
After offloading the sand, Mwale went back and caught one of the boys who happened to be the suspect.
He started beating him but in retaliation the suspect took a brick and hit Mwale on the head and he fell down.
The deceased was rushed to hospital but he died on 20 September whilst receiving medical treatment.
Postmortem conducted revealed that death was due to blood clotting in the skull caused by impact the brick.
Mbiri Chosadziwa will appear in court soon to answer murder charge contrary to section 209 of the penal code.
He hails from Kasankha village Traditional Authority Kaomba in Kasungu district.

The deceased provoked the boy and it was a reaction to provocation that lead to the death of the man three times the age of the accidental killer.

It was self defense, the man was biting the boy and the boy was trying to rescue himself from the man thats why he took a brick and hit the man without knowing that he will die.
