The Flames of Malawi are now on position 99 from 127 in the latest FIFA rankings released by the world soccer governing body.

The Malawi National Football team failed to qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon but their 1-nil victory over Swaziland last week did not go unnoticed by FIFA.

The latest movement has indicated that the Flames are one of the best movers in the standings.

On continental level, the Flames have moved up to 28th from 38th. Surprisingly, Group L leaders Zimbabwe are on position 113 despite making it to Gabon whilst Guinea and Swaziland are occupying position 61 and 100 respectively.

Argentina remains top ranked side with Belgium occupying the second position.
