Sankhani Mkandawire impresses in Tanzania

…as Gaba shines for Wits

The newly signed Mbeya FC defender made his debut against Kagera Sugar in the Tanzania’s Vodacom Premier League in the just ended week to help his side grab an important point to a side that defeated them twice last season.

Sankhani Mkandawire was included in the VPL’s team of the week for his ability to win aerial battles, showing calmness on the ball and ultimately helping Mbeya FC to a much more assured defensive perfomance than last season.

The former Big Bullets defender together with Owen Chaima played the whole of 90 minutes, proving to Kinnah Phiri that the decision to bring them on board from Bullets was right.

In South Africa, Gabadinho Mhango produced a man of the match perfomance for Bidvest Wits to help them to secure a 2-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) opening league match.

The former Bullets and Bloemfontein Celtic forward terrorized Chiefs’ defence like nobody’s business no wonder he was named man of the match for his dream start to a side that finished second last season.

Mhango taunted Amakhosi’s defence like nobody’s busines but was just unlucky in front of goals but managed to help his side secure the vital wins.

Congratulations to our boys playing in foreign lands.
